Northwoods Sunset

Posted by Hello

Finally! My first fish this year!

Well it finally happened!

All losing streaks must come to an end and this one was a long time coming.

Last week, my brother, Kurt, caught fish after fish, including a nice 4 pound bass. Of course, along with his fish he hurled insults at me, understandably so since I was skunked!

Yesterday, on the most glorious of days, the worm turned. I finally caught a fish. In an amazing coincidence, I caught it at the same spot Kurt caught his. And as I pulled it out of the water I noticed a striking similarity to the one he caught.

Check the pics below and see if you don't agree.

Here is the original that Kurt caught.

The resemblance is uncanny wouldn't you agree?

The dragonfly hatch is unsurpassed this year. The mosquito population disappears. Yippeee!

Note Kurt's devilish grin as he taunts the picture taker with his latest 'prize.' State records remain unthreatened.

This is actually a picture of a minnow that Kurt used as bait. He demanded that it be held 2 cm from the camera to appear bigger.

Kurt continues to taunt with a napping fish that he snagged with his bare hands. He, of course, insisted that it count as a 'catch.'

We crossed paths with the Lewis and Clark expedition almost a couple of hundred years later going the opposite direction. It did not pass our notice that their trip took more than two years and our less than two weeks.
